Herman de Vries is a botanical and an artist from

Holland. Nowadays he lives in Germany.
His works of art are made from elements found in

ART PROJECT: “JOAN MIRÓ”

“Joan Miró, the artist and his work”

2nd Primary , School Arc Iris, Barcelona

The project “Joan Miró, the artist and his work” is started from the interests of students, expectations and initiatives of fellow students. My contribution has been to listen, focus and put at your disposal everything necessary to make it reality. Working this way creates illustrations, dreams, expectations and frustrations shared.

Joan Miro has become part of us, as for his work as his way of doing and also understand, especially for their way of life.

All these aspects are summarized in the ideas expressed by children about Joan Miró:
1. WHEN HE WASD CHILD HE WANTED TO PAINT.
2. HE HAD MANY FRIENDS AND THEY LOVE JOAN VERY MUCH.
3. HE WAS ALWAYS HAPPY.
4. HE LOVED NATURE. HE LOVED TO WALK AND COLLECT TREASURES.
5. HE MADE SCULPTURES WITH THINGS HE FOUND
6. HE LIKED TO PAINT THINGS
7. HE LIKED TO PAINT BIG PICTURES USING HIS HANDS AND SPATTERING THE PAINT
8. HE WANTD TO HAVE A BIG STUDIO.

These ideas about the artist have been enriched throughout the project through discussions and art activities in which the what artist stands as a benchmark and the same time, making them see much of he thought or did, or do they also think: Who has not wanted to be an artist when they were children, how important are friends!   

The paint we chose, “Codes encryption and constellation” reflected the imaginary world of Miró when he contemplate the sky. We have imagined “our sky” full of stars and constellations where hiding our names and: “when we look at the sky there will be all”

We made a collective mural. We decided because we had the same dream that Joan Miró: painting a big picture on a big scale.

SPORT PROJECT: “Basketball video lessons”

Besides the classes dedicated to the game of basketball, we also produced for together 5 questions for Rieky Rubio and Rudy Fernandez related to sport and their values which we rublished on the blog important basketball because we want that they answer us.

Previously, we had sessions devoted to technical aspects of basketball: knowledge and experience the basic position of defense, improve the mastery of the ball, practice 1 v 1, learn and experience the break time and two time. And pivots to improve the boat, improve better control of the ball, play the 2 against 1, know the different types of passes,, improving the passing of the ball in movement, play and practice throwing the ball, play and practice the attacks.

This sessions havealways been worked from the values of “fair play”; talks together, group discussions and reading articles that explained important values: responsibility, effort, ability to integrate, humility, harmony to learn to win and lose.

Values inherent and necessary in the sport are also in real life.

SPORT PROJECT: “Respect, tolerance and co-operation”

In gymnastics, students in fourth level have worked hard with the Comenius Project.

Together we made a montage from a basketball game. In this game we work on respect for others, cooperation and the importance of being part of a single group, teamwork, know how to win, how to lose, respect another children,…

Together we have fostered an attitude of respect, tolerance and co-operation with ourselves and with other colleagues.

 150 years ago, the Czech educator Comenius (Jan Amos Komensky) said that the precious time that each person have within his, if stimulated by an education made participatory and exciting experiences, they have become in some brilliant fruit trees.
We are all Comenius!

ART PROJECT: “ART IN BARCELONA”

Pupils of class 6 have been working in pairs to find out different monuments, buildings sculpters and museums wich are in our city, Barcelona.

We indicate the period on year, that they were built, and also the artistic movement and the auther of the work of art.
